For a tablet of that low price we expected to find a variety of problems but instead we found a decent, affordable tablet that functions properly. Wait! Don’t go yet! We said it is a decent tablet, not a perfect one 😉 BadFive, as always, found 5 problems that might make you rethink about your purchase.
1. Volume is too low
Although the Acer tablet has a decent quality of sound it appears that its volume is simply too low. Even when you turn the volume up to the maximum level you still struggle to hear especially when background noise is present. If you want this tablet for watching movies I would recommend a nice quiet place too. Otherwise don’t even bother.
2. Lousy Camera Modules
You better not be thinking that you will be using this tablets camera for your photo shooting. Acer Iconea Tab 10 has a front camera of 2 MP and a Rear Camera of 5 MP. Both the front and the rear camera have terrible quality and cannot be used for shooting decent photos. I repeat, CAN NOT be used for shooting decent photos.
3. Pre-Installed apps are useless
After buying this tablet the first thing that you will notice is a ridiculous amount of preinstalled apps. An inexperienced user might take this as a good thing but we badFive folks know that it is a very bad thing. Most of the apps are useless for the average user, take a big part of the performance and the memory of the tablet and of course cannot be uninstalled. What is this madness with the pre-installed apps? Please Stop!
4. Battery is Not Removable + Bad Battery Life
Battery not being removable on a tablet might not be considered a huge problem for many. But keeping in mind that Acer Iconea Tab 10 A3-A20 has a poor battery life too this problem made it easily to our badFive list.
5. User’s manual
I know, I know… This is not a tech problem but it appears to be bothering too many people to leave it out of our badFive list. Many have had hard time finding the manual online and those that managed to find it say that it is very complicated and useless. Since not everybody is an experienced tech nerd (like us ) this is considered a drawback.
