Do you want to get crazy as the rest of the world?
Pokémon GO is currently available in the US, Australia and New Zealand on iPhone and Android devices. Of course it’s rolling out to other countries soon! So whether you have an iOS or Android device, be sure to check your App Store or Play Store to find the Pokemon GO app and download it. The app will be available only for the stores of the released countries so far. But there are some alternative ways you can have it without waiting for the official release.
iOS
On iOS you can simply make a new account or switch your existing one by locating it to the US App Store. This means that the app will be visible to you, being able to download the official release.
Another way that you can have Pokémon GO is the famous HiPStore. For those who remember or still use jailbroken solutions on their iOS, HiPStore is a lot like Cydia, but it’s mainly online and is not required to have a jailbroken device in order to download free-paid apps. So, Pokémon GO was released in HiPStore and it’s available for download. This is an unofficial way to have it in your iOS device but if you can’t wait until the official release in your store, you could follow these steps below to successfully install it:
Step 1 : Access the following link from your iOS Safari Browser
Link: http://ios.hipstore.mobi/app/Pokemon-GO/1000007852
Step 2 : Click Download
Step 3 : Choose version 1.0 for non-jailbroken devices and click Download
Step 4 : Wait for about 5 seconds to see the popup that will prompt you to open it to the App Store. Then click open.
Step 5 : Click Install and wait for the installation to complete. The app is downloading normally to your iOS device as any official app from the app store.
Step 6 : The app is not yet ready to run. You should first trust the “Unknown Publisher” to access your phone and run normally. Go to Settings > General > Device Management and trust the publisher of the unofficial app.
Note: I was informed that some iPhone users complained about GPS problems. I have an iPhone 6 and when I tested it I had no problems at all. The only 2 facts that you need to know is that the app heats up the device and sometimes when is being re-opened the app crashes and does not connects to your account, so you just have to simply uninstall and re-install it as I described above. Yep, this is a thing, but if you can’t wait any more, this is maybe the best way to have it until the official release.
Android
Step 1 : Just download the .apk file from the following link to your android device: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/niantic-inc/pokemon-go/pokemon-go-0-29-0-release/pokemon-go-0-29-0-android-apk-download/
Step 2: Install the app from .apk file
All those above are tested from many people so far and there is not even one report for any malware or serious privacy problem for those links instead of others, but it’s in your hand to choose. By installing the app, you are responsible for your own decisions and actions. It’s strongly recommended after the official app release to your store to uninstall the unofficial app and install the official one from the store.
Have fun trainers! Gotta catch ‘em all!
