Apple Watch

Just overpriced and overestimated

Here’s Apple Watch. An “elegant” smartwatch made by Apple. Reports describe Apple Watch’s lunch as unsuccessful, because as it seems the company didn’t make it to ship an amount of this product for at least two months after the official launch! Also, starting at $349, the Apple Watch is already more expensive than competing smartwatches such as the Pebble Steel ($199) and the Motorola Moto 360 ($250). There are 3 editions: Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition in different materials and prices. The most luxurious of the lot, the Apple Watch Edition is crafted from custom rose or yello 18-karat gold alloys, and can be worn with specially designed straps and bands with 18-karat gold clasps, buckles or pins. The Apple Watch Edition starts at $10,000. We’ve searched and found the top 5 problems and issues that owners faced. (We focused on the first category of Apple Watches but the problems exist on all three)

1. Only Compatible With iPhones

How can such a big company produce a wearable device that has limited compatibility with anything else out there? They target only the market of people that have iPhone or even better, people that are willing to buy also an iPhone with their Apple Watch. This strategy makes high profits on the target market, but on the other hand the target market can never grow even more. If you are using an Android device or anything else except an iPhone 5 or higher version, you should reconsider buying an Apple Watch.. that’s true.

2. Poor and Short Battery Life

The battery normally lasts a maximum of 18 hours. People are having trouble by experiencing fast battery drain using their smartwatch. As they reported it lasts not even half of the normal duration described before. Trying to uninstall apps that you are not using or lowing the brightness of the screen, along with other features that can be unnecessary such as sound options, may improve a little bit the battery stamina. But why you do even have to do this?

3. Malfunctioning Digital Crown

There are reports saying “Digital Crown that is not accurately registering clicks or is not able to turn smoothly, Apple recommends that they should turn off the Watch, remove the Band, and then run the Digital Crown under warm water for between 10 to 15 seconds.” Alright..! That’s really weird!

4. The heart rate monitor doesn’t always work with tattoos

Social media are all full with anecdotes and posts that the Apple Watch sensor that measures heart rate does not work well on some Apple Watch owners that have tattoos on their skin. Watch’s sensor technology seems to make this problem possible. “The signal to noise ratio when you use light to try and measure blood flow in people as Apple is doing is much lower in someone who has high melanin content,” says Steven LeBoeuf to usatoday, a co-founder of Valencell, a producer of biometric sensors. Also if you are an athlete with a tattoo on your skin, this would be a problem for you!

5. Bluetooth Connectivity Issues

This is a big and common problem for Apple Watch. Many users have noticed that when you enter ‘Bluetooth’ on the Watch, it just keeps searching for devices and cannot find any iPhone 6 or other Bluetooth enabled device. Nothing is being shown! There’s also a “Lost iPhone connection glitch” that is really annoying by disconnecting or having issues on communication with your iPhone, even if it’s near your “brand new” Apple Watch!
