You MUST watch these incredible TV series
Everybody is talking about Game of Thrones or The Walking dead, which by the way are quite exciting to watch, but what if you need something else? Something different. Something where you can easily relate to.
Since you’re reading this you must be a fan of technology in some way. Whether you’re a programmer, an engineer, a geek or simply interested in the world of technology I guarantee that you will instantly fall in love with the following TV series I’m about to share with you.
1. Mr. Robot
If you’re a fan of hacking scenes in movies then you’re going to love this TV series. Mr. Robot revolves around hackers and their ultimate plan to stop E-CORP (a.k.a. Evil Corp) from their evil doings. It’s a very intelligent series full of unexpected surprises and accurate hacking techniques.
Here’s the exact description for Mr. Robot:
“MR. ROBOT follows Elliot (Rami Malek, “The Pacific”), a young programmer who works as a cyber-security engineer by day and as a vigilante hacker by night. Elliot finds himself at a crossroads when the mysterious leader (Christian Slater, “The Adderall Diaries”) of an underground hacker group recruits him to destroy the firm he is paid to protect. Compelled by his personal beliefs, Elliot struggles to resist the chance to take down the multinational CEOs he believes are running (and ruining) the world.”
2. Silicon Valley
Silicon Valley is a series for every young programmer out there who’s dreaming of starting his own company in a garage. It’s a nerdy comedy that describes surprisingly accurately the struggles a startup goes through. It might sound boring but trust me, it’s definitely not! I assure you it will make you laugh and at the end of each episode you might feel a little bit inspired as well.
Here’s the description given at IMDB:
“In the high-tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success. A comedy partially inspired by Mike Judge’s own experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the late 1980s.”
3. Person of Interest
Programming, networking, hacking, artificial intelligence, Person of Interest has it all. It combines intelligence with action and drama. Long story short, it has guns and it has brains. What else do you need to know?
Here’s the story from IMDB:
“An ex-assassin and a wealthy programmer save lives via a surveillance AI that sends them the identities of civilians involved in impending crimes. However, the details of the crimes–including the civilians’ roles–are left a mystery.’
4. Westworld
Westworld is a lot different from anything you’ve ever seen involving artificial intelligence. It depicts an interesting world where we’ve managed to create humanoid robots with intelligence equal or event greater than ours. Despite our progress and amazing discovery, the way we chose to use these intelligent creations is a little bit…unorthodox.
Take it from IMDB:
“A Western-themed futuristic theme park, populated with artificial intelligence, allows high-paying guests to live out their fantasies with no consequences or retaliation from the android hosts, until now.’
5. Halt and Catch Fire
This television series takes place in the 1980s where the personal computer revolution is about to happen. The story takes us through the experience of the technological boom that took place in those days. We get to re-experience those events through the eyes of a young visionary whose sole purpose is pure innovation. Reminds you of anyone?
The exact description of the series written by AMC:
“Set in the 1980s, this series dramatizes the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. Their personal and professional partnership will be challenged by greed and ego while charting the changing culture in Texas’ Silicon Prairie.”
