For the past few years, the Game Awards have been a constant source of surprise announcements and interesting information released to the public about some of the most anticipated games.
JUST IN TIME
With Sony and Microsoft slowly shifting gears to focus on the marketing of their next-gen consoles, 2020 is ripe for the taking if you’re Nintendo. The Switch is still on fire and shows no signs of stopping any time soon, especially with the Holidays just around the corner.
SIMPLE TACTICS
All Nintendo has to do is keep feeding its fans a steady stream of hot releases, like the rumoured Metroid Prime Trilogy HD remake, Metroid Prime 4 and of course, the sequel to Breath of the Wild which was announced at E3 2019.
THE PERFECT TIME
The Game Awards will be the perfect opportunity for Nintendo to supercharge the hype surrounding the sequel to what is arguably one of the greatest games of all time. Not only will Breath of the Wild 2 news propel the Holiday sales to new highs but at the same time it will solidify the dominance of the Switch in terms of units sold per month until Sony and Microsoft launch their next consoles in 2020.
REGGIE WILL BE THERE
The fans are hungry for more information on Breath of the Wild 2. Worst case scenario, all we get is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character reveal or a Metroid Prime Trilogy HD announcement. But come on. Even Reggie will be there. My money is on surprise Zelda news in the 2019 Game Awards.
