Color Switch

A rising smartphone game from hell

Even if you’re not a casual smartphone “gamer” the possibilities that you’ve heard this game are very high. Color Switch is a trending smartphone game that seems to be getting a lot of attention lately. At the time of writing it has 500.000-1.000.000 downloads on Google playstore. It’s a very simple game and fun to play. At least until you start rage quitting.

The Game

The game its self could turn out to be addictive for the majority of its users. All you have to do is guide a dot through obstacles provided that the color of your dot is the same as the color of the obstacle. The further you get the higher your score will be. Piece of cake right? Well many people would disagree.

The Rage

When you start playing you immediately notice that the gameplay is not as simple as it sounds. After a few loses in a row it becomes obvious that this game is here to haunt you. A similar feeling with that of the “flappy bird” game (for those that still remember it). Although it might not get as big as flappy bird, the rage quitting is strong with this one as well. Color switch has been associated with rage quitting right from the start. This game drives you mad!!! (Here’s a video of some people rage quitting). What’s odd though is that the more irritating the game gets the more you want to play it. I think I begin to see a pattern here…hmm…

The Bugs

Well as a BadFive agent it is my duty to uncover something bad when I discover it so that our readers could see it. After playing the game on my Samsung Galaxy s5 I quickly noticed an unjustified lag from time to time. One day I got a pop up saying that “unfortunately color switch has stopped working”, what was odd though was that I haven’t even opened color switch! This happened often and not only to me. I decided to delete the app because of this problem but I expect them to fix it as soon as possible.

The Conclusion

Should you try this game? YES. I believe that this game deserves a go from everyone. It is simple, fun and amusing but you should stop playing when it starts to drive you mad. Download the game but remember, your smartphone or tablet is worth more than a game, don’t rage throw it!!!
