Google accelerated mobile pages project has launched

Millions of smartphone users are not very satisfied from mobile web while the page loading on the search engines is very slow and clunky. Well, Google decided that now is the time to stop that thing.

Some months before, it was announced that Google was working on the AMP project(Accelerated Mobile Pages). An initiative that loads pages extremely faster and consumes less mobile data.

Yes, it’s open source.
Moreover, the project is open source so you can find the source code, examples and documentation on GitHub. That framework is used by WordPress, The Wall Street Journal, The New Word Post and other publishers. It is mentioned that is 4 times faster and it consumes 10 times less mobile data even if the website includes animations, slideshows, videos and big images.

As you can see from the image below, the pages that use the AMP feature includes a thunderbolt enclosed in a green circle.

That initiative from Google will surely make those millions of readers very happy. It is a huge step for mobile searching experience that will have a positive effect on both readers and Google.
