It has made it to the top off Apple’s App charts
I know what you’re thinking. Another Social Network? Do they ever get tired of creating “new” copycats of Facebook? Well don’t close this article just yet. Peach, as this new social networking app is called, might just turn out to be a little bit different from what you’d expect.
What’s up with Peach?
Peach has been the Internet’s hottest topic of the week. Everyone is talking about this new social networking App. It has made it to the top off Apple’s App charts. Some say it’s not something special, others say it’s cool and fresh. I personally believe it’s a mix of other social networks with a surprisingly cool result. Peach was created by Vine co-founder Dom Hoffman but it’s not at all like Vine.
What is Peach?
Peach is fairly new and there is a lot changes to expect. But what makes Peach different? I will list some basic features of peach that might or might not make it stick around for more than just a few months.
For starters you can only add people you know. In order to add someone you have to search his username and add him. Later on though, when you have some friends there are some suggestions for new connections who are basically friends of friends.
With Peach you can broadcast you thoughts to the world if you want like twitter. You can also share pictures, short videos, GIF, your mood and some other stuff.
The coolest feature of Peach in my opinion is the “Magic-words”. Magic words allow you to type something like a command expecting an appropriate outcome. For example type GIF if you want to search for GIFs, here if you want to share your location, draw if you want to draw something and share it and a lot of other interesting commands. The list goes on and you can search the Magic Words yourself in order to find the ones that suit you most.
Finally Peach interactions feel a little bit friendlier and the reason for that is the ‘poke-like’ feature that they included. See for yourself:
Will It take off?
Well it’s really soon to make any predictions. Although it feels complete and fresh Peach might not fill the Users needs which are, most of the times, unpredictable. Personally I believe that it won’t stick around. The following weeks will be critical to whether Peach will take off or die. Stay tuned for our next update on Peach’s progress.
