Having an Apple Watch can save your life apparently

Apple announced a lot of exciting stuff during this year’s WWDC. The keynote focused on updates for iOS12, watchOS, tvOS and macOS. The aftermath of the event was people mainly discussing the new software changes, apps and features that were presented at WWDC 2018. But for me, there was a moment during the keynote that captured my attention and made me want to share this story.

The story begins with Tim Cook saying:

“When we began development of the watch years ago we had a vision for just how impactful and essential it could become in our lives. “

He was referring of course to the Apple Watch. When he said impactful, he was talking about how much the Apple Watch helped many people out there to improve their fitness, their lifestyles and even, in extreme cases, save lives.

“If it wasn’t for my Apple Watch, he really would not be here today”

Tim Cook shared a story of how a woman named Mary Dovgin was able to save her husband, John, with the help of the Apple watch. I loved this story because it depicts how technology can be used to really help people instead of harming them, which is many times the case.

We uploaded a one minute video of the story so you can hear it yourselves:
