OnePlus X

It doesn’t feel like a budget phone at all and it comes at a great price too.

The OnePlus X is one of the best budget smartphones of 2015.It has a great design and a premium look. It doesn’t feel like a budget phone at all and it comes at a great price too. At first glance OnePlus X seems like a great phone but if you take a closer look you immediately notice that it’s missing a lot of features that you might not want to do without. Read our BadFive review for the top 5 drawbacks of the OnePlus X..

1. Design

Although OnePlus X feels premium and has a pretty decent design it comes with some problems as well. The back of the phone is made of glass which gives it a higher class feeling but also makes it very vulnerable. Many users of the OnePlus X have reported that their smartphone broke after falling from a height of just one foot. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you are going to break your phone the first time you drop it, but I would definitely recommend buying a case as soon as you buy your smartphone. Another thing to watch out for is that the glassy back of the OnePlus X is a major Fingerprint magnet. So again, a case for your smartphone wouldn’t hurt.

2. Charging

Nowadays charging is a very important topic in the world of smartphones. Sadly, OnePlus X lacks great features like Wireless charging and Fast charging. Don’t get me wrong, I know this is a budget smartphone and I excuse the absence of the Wireless charging, but still, fast charging is essential in my opinion. The lack of this feature could be a deal breaker for many since everyone wants their phone to get over charging quickly so they can go back to using it.

3. Battery

Here we go. The most common complaint of smartphone users found its way to the top again, but for a good reason. The battery life of the OnePlus X is below average. Everyone expected a better battery life considering the fact that the battery itself is NOT removable. The mixture of poor battery life, non-removable battery and lack of Fast Charging creates a dangerous cocktail that most of the potential users wouldn’t want to taste.

4. Poor Performance

Snapdragon 801? Really? This isn’t 2013!!! Clearly this was a move to save money but it came with a performance cost. The processor offers poor performance compared to many of the competitors out there. OnePlus X certainly isn’t for gaming or long durations of video streaming since it tends to get hot and slow. This might be a budget phone but using an outdated processor to save money isn’t the smartest idea.

5. Missing Various Features

This is a first. Normally I would write a final problem of the OnePlus X that was considered one of the worst for many users but this time the problems where so many that I decided to include some of them in the fifth “bad” of our BadFive review. Here we go. Some of the extra negative points you might want to consider include:

1.No NFC
2.No type C connection
3.No 5GHZ Wi-Fi
4.No 4K Video
