Pebble Time Steel

Pebble smartwatches, the new trend or something really radical?

A computerized watch some years back was considered something out of this world. The last 3 years however many companies are trying to incorporate this piece of tech into our lives and
pebble is one of them. Having released a line of smartwatches and pebble time steel being one
of the latest additions to the family these are some points someone might consider before
buying one!

1. Large Bezels on the screen being not attractive at all

The Pebble time steel LED display is surrounded by large bezels and this fact is not something that’s said by just me but from everyone who have tried or saw this smartwatch. As a result the
display offered is too small and in some cases impractical. Having that said the potential with a
larger screen could be entirely different.

2. Cannot consider it a “smartwatch” without a touchscreen

We strongly believe that a touchscreen embedded on the Pebble time steel would give to the watch entirely different prospects and possibilities combined with an appropriate UI of course.

3. Poor app availability

Pebble unfortunately does not offer a rich user experience as other smartwatches on the market do. The reason for that, is because of the fact that there are not many apps available on a pebble watch. A wearable device with lots of apps to offer is undoubtedly higher in class than a device which offers less. Pebble offers around 6.5k apps a satisfying number but which is no near to the number that android and apple offers. That’s why other smartwatch line ups might offer a much more rich experience

4. Easily scratched device #very_easily

While using the pebble time steel it has been noticed that it can be very easily scratched and in a very short period of time too. The company claims to use marine grade stainless steel chassis and bezel with scratch resistance in offer . However the result by everyday users and reviewers is
quite different.

5. 64 color display…seriously?

A great artist can do much with 64 colors, in fact me not being an artist can’t even list 64 colors, but living in the 21st century and companies having shipped displays with over 16 million colors it’s hard for tech junkies and in fact the everyday user to be satisfied with such display. That’s less than the colors on a late 90’s Gameboy! Ending with that as mentioned before with such display the user’s experience is reduced even more.
