A new Xperia released on June of 2015 from Sony: an unsuccessful effort I think to create a cheaper “clone” of Xperia Z2. It lacks some features for a €300 smartphone. Let’s see what we have to do today:
1. Bad performance
Many reviews on the web plead bad performance problems on Sony Xperia M4. Although M4 includes an octa-core processor with 1.5GHz average frequency and 2GB RAM, it lacks performance.
2. Very low internal memory
Users need a huge amount of memory for photos, videos and music, especially when a photo’s resolution and quality is good, so each photo has about 2MB and a video hundreds of MBs or a few GBs. Moreover, the 8GB internal memory comes down to almost half (about 4 GB) because of the Android system. Yes Sony, you provide a slot for microSD but why force the user to spend more money and buy it?
3. Bad camera position
This may sound a little bit funny but it’s a fact. Usually, phones whose rear camera is not positioned in the centre but it’s close to the edge of the phone’s back side, make it easier for the user to put their finger(s) in front of the camera and destroy photos and videos. Take that into account; it’s important.
4. Battery not replaceable by user
That’s a controversial issue. Many people believe that a removable battery on a smartphone is required. That’s an advantage: when the battery is destroyed, you can easily replace it on your own or change it whenever you want to if you need a more powerful battery, or just remove the battery when your phone is stuck and needs to be restarted. So, Sony could think more about that.
5. It gets a bit hot
Overheating is a fact for Xperia M4. Reviews “burn” M4 on its heating problems after just a couple of minutes of gaming or any other operation. It heats easily. The user is really anxious after the device is heated because they don’t know when the heating will cause a damage.
