A bit suspicious price..or not?
A very good Chinese smartphone with specs that can make you feel satisfied in combination with its price tag. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was released last November and it has created a lot of discussions between forums, blogs and social media regarding it. It includes the fingerprint technology, a 4000mAh Li-Po battery which ensures a great endurance, a powerful processor which can handle a lot of processes but it also includes some “negative” stuff that you need to know about it before the purchase.
1.Don’t look for microSD slot
You can buy Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with 16GB internal storage or 32GB. A capacity that I think is limited if you take into account that each picture from your camera is minimum 1MB. And what you can do about that? Nothing! The phone is not equipped with any slot to extend its capacity and the only solution for that problem is the cloud storage which may cost money and time.. or performance of your phone if you want to upload your photos or videos every time you are connected to a network.
2.No NFC
In my opinion, NFC(Near Field Communication) is a really useful tool for data exchanging(when you are close to the sender/receiver), even if some people have no idea what the hell is that. A tool that is supported only by Android smartphones and its fans are proud of it. SO! If you are a fan of NFC, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 can be your second choice or something. But there is no need to be so cruel with Xiaomi, there are and other data exchanging “methods” as well.
3.Non-removable battery
As I mentioned before, Redmi Note 3 has a really powerful battery of 4000 mAh! Most of its users are very satisfied with it and many report that its endurance lasts over 2 days. But as everybody knows from smartphones, their battery after bad use or after some bad updates, the condition of the battery starts to get worse. And there is only one thing that you can do for that, to replace it with another. But what happens when your battery is no user replaceable? You should bring your device to an expert to replace it, something that will cost(maybe) a serious amount of money.
4.Poor screen protection
The display of Redmi Note 3 is an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, a good enough display, but what about its protection? No, there’s no Gorilla Glass or something. So if you buy it, you should be more careful with it because it will be a bit sensitive to scratches and staff. Let’s admit it everyone, Gorilla Glass is a trustworthy material and people like it. Xiaomi should include it! But because I don’t want to be unfair I will say that Xiaomi wanted to provide a high spec phone in the minimum price. That’s why they didn’t include Gorilla Glass protection. For sure they chose alternative screen protection methods, but I am pretty sure that those methods are not as good as Gorilla Glass.
5.Overheating in some circumstances
Some users are complaining for overheating after intensive gaming, but I will not mention it as a serious disadvantage because that happens to most of the smartphones. But I will mention, according to user reviews, that heating also occurs when the phone is charging and when using wifi or mobile data connection.
